Default 40K Patriot Games - 2010 - Fayetteville, AK

As some of you know, I recently attended the WHFB Event SooiePalooza at this same venue. The organizers are running a 40K Event June 5th & 6th at the same hotel this year. I spoke to the organizer at SooiePalooza, Dennis, and he said the point value would either be 1750 or 1850.

Now for those of you who have been keeping up on current events, this tournament is part of the 2010/2011 Indy GT circuit, sponsored by GW. Which means the top 2 finishers will get a spot at the 2011 National Championships held in Las Vegas. GW pays your hotel and food bill for the entire weekend. All you have to do is get there.

After playing in the WHFB event, I can say that this is a GREAT venue!!! My friend and I are already making plans to go. The hotel where the event is being held is right near U of A and there is tons of great food, live music, etc. around. Here is the link:

Dennis is still wrapping up the WHFB tournament info, so there isn't too much on the website yet. But it should be there soon.

You DO NOT have to be fully painted. However, I assume the scoring will be very similar to the WHFB tournament, and here's what they did.

This year the scoring system for Sooiepalooza will change a little. First of all - there will be NO WRITTEN TEST! In years past, the written test always started the Saturday festivities, but this year, that has changed.
This year the Comp system will also change. At 8:30 AM on Saturday morning, everyone will be registered. At that time we will hand out packets with 5 army lists in each packet. None of the army lists will have a player's name on it, but it will be coded, so our staff can score the results. You will be given 45 minutes to grade all 5 armies on a 0-5 scale, with 5 being the high score. This takes the table work out of the tournament, allowing more time for the games, making final scoring easier, and giving the players more say in what happens. That is why it is imperative that all army lists be submitted by January 15, 2010. If your list is not in the director's hands by that date, you will receive 0 in comp, and you will not be give any armies to grade.
Sportsmanship will be graded at the table, after each game, on a 0-4 scale. 4 being the best, while 0 is the lowest. The officials at the tournament will add 1 point to each player's score if the game was finished in the allotted time, not having to wait on score sheets at the table.
Battle points will be the same as always - 15 for a win, 10 for a draw, and 5 for a loss, with the ability to gain or lose an extra 2 points with the playing cards, as we have done in the past. - Best Poker Hand at the end wins an extra prize
Paint scores will be judged by the tournament officials. The score sheet used is posted here. Player judged painting will determine the best painted army, as well as give bonus points to players for overall score.

A word to the wise; you do not want to cheese out your lists. You will be punished for it. Comp Score makes up 25% of your overall score. If people see only 2 troops, and 3 heavies, your score will be bad.

Here are the posts I did for the WHFB tournament as a reference.

It would be cool if we could have a large F.R.A.G. showing. Maybe get some T-Shirts made up. Anyway check out the web site and hope to see you there.
